AI WORKSHOP 1.0

The event took place on February 26, 2022 at the Hub Innovation Hall in partnership with the University of Ibadan, the Post-Graduate School, and the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Oyo State Chapter.

The events started with welcome speech from Chairman of NCS, Dr Osunade, followed by Dr. Ayinla, standing in for Dr. Ibiyinka T. Ayorinde. He discussed recent trends in technology and data colonization, followed by Prof. Mrs. Olufunke Vincent. She enlightened the students on how to write a scientific paper and grant proposal. She also discussed some of the practical AI tools like Grammarly and Turnitin that can be used for research work. Next was Low & No Code IA, which was taken by Mrs. Adenusi Cecilia and Mr. Taiwo Olaleye, and which showed a practical demonstration of No Code AI using Weka data mining tools. Next was the itemization of AI tools used in research work, which was also taken by Mrs. Adenusi Cecilia and Dr. Adeyinka Oresanya. They took the practical aspect, using Mendeley reference manager as the practical tool.

The workshop was concluded with a practical application of AI called Orange, which is a data mining tool, presented by Mr. Olaleye Taiwo, followed by questions and answers.
